Religion In Public Schools .
Overall, I think that religion shouldn’t be taught in public schools. If you chose to learn religious beliefs then you should attend a religious school.
There are many reasons why religion shouldn’t be taught in public schools. One reason is because offending other students. If a student has a certain belief, such as there is no God and they wear a shirt that says ‘God is dead’, then that could offend a student that believes in God. It would be an uncomfortable learning experience for both students. Secondly, there are special schools for all religions. Students who go to religious schools, for there for their certain religious beliefs. They have the freedom to attend school without being attacked by other religious views. Lastly, it is unconstitutional to force a certain religion on students. By teaching religion, there is no way that teachers could cover every religion, therefore, they would only pick certain religions to teach. Who has the right to pick the religions?
As you can see I have a strong belief that religion shouldn’t be taught in school. It would offend not only students, but their religious backgrounds also.
